Helps reduce skin and GI reactions that may be a result of sensitivities to common proteins found in pet foods

Helps minimize risk of reaction with proteins that are broken down to a size that’s less likely to be recognized by the immune system

Reinforces the skin barrier with essential nutrients to support healthy skin in cats with skin sensitivity and irritation

Helps support healthy digestion with an exclusive blend of fibers and prebiotics

Whether a veterinarian has determined through an elimination diet trial that your cat has food sensitivities or that she requires long-term support for her skin and GI issues, your vet recommended Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP for a reason. This highly palatable diet is designed for adult cats. It’s formulated with hydrolyzed soy proteins, composed of low molecular weight peptides, so they can be absorbed in the digestive tract with a reduced risk of triggering an immune reaction. Optimal amounts of B vitamins and amino acids reinforce your cat’s skin barrier. Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA help promote healthy skin and coat. An exclusive blend of fibers helps support healthy digestion in cats prone to digestive upsets, including diarrhea. And with strict manufacturing procedures to help avoid cross contamination, you can confidently feed Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP long-term to cats with food sensitivities.

Really helps reduce vomiting for my kitty

My medium haired cat started producing more hairballs as she aged, and by the time she was 10 year sold, it progressed to frequent random vomiting (sometimes hairballs, sometimes food, sometimes just water/bile). Her stools were always good, however. But there was one week where the vomiting just would not stop, and she was literally throwing up every single thing she ate. I took her to the vet to rule out a bowel obstruction, and they diagnosed her after x-ray with possible IBS or Intestinal Lymphoma (both look similar on x-ray and have similar symptoms). Either way, they said the the RC HP food would be their recommended first line of treatment. Up until that point she ate mostly natural/holistic brands and some raw foods. When the vomiting and hairballs got too frequent, I changed her to RC Hairball formula (dry and wet) and that initially reduced her hairball vomiting by quite a lot for about a year. So I was fine switching her to the RC prescription food, just sad that there is no wet food option, but beggars can't be choosers! She transitioned really well to the HP and the vomiting stopped IMMEDIATELY. She does have softer stool sometimes (it's pretty random but nothing too problematic) but the vomiting was cut by like 95%. She now only occasionally throws up a hairball or might throw up bile if we're late feeding her. I know that it wont necessarily manage her forever if she really does have IBS or lymphoma, but so far she is doing as well as you can hope after more than a year. Her skin and coat look nice and she eats it happily!

Old Version Better

The new formula isn't working for our cats at all. We had stocked up on the bag that read: Hypoallergenic Hydrolyzed Protein. When we went to pick it up a few days ago the look of the bag had changed but the vet's office assured us it was the same formula. Well of course it wasn't. No notice was given that this change was happening and the vet's office wasn't even notified of the change. The new formula has a different smell to it and the cats won't touch it. We are in a bind now because all they can eat is the Hydrolyzed Protein soy based food. Please bring back the old formula.

Cats Are Carnivores

Cats are obligate carnivores, yet the 1st ingredient is brewers rice. Cats are meant to eat meat, not carbohydrates.

Horrible product

Feed grade animal product. Rice Soy Chicken fat Fish oil Aluminum This is a vegan diet, that will ultimately make any cat more sick... Cats are obligate carnivores. Meaning they will die without MEAT in their diet. Any veterinary professional with knowkedge of biology & physiology should know this product will not create health and healing in a cat. Especially one already suffering from health issues.

Solved Diarrhea Issue

This is the only food that my cat can digest and does not lead to diarrhea. I wish there was a wet food option for cats as well.

Caused so many problems rather than fixing them

Caused my cat to need emergency cystotomy surgery to remove crystals the size a human would have. Was told by Royal Canin that "there's no guarantee the SO Index will prevent crystals". That answer is entirely unacceptable and says it all about the company.
